I think I'll start this whole thing by letting you guys in on exactly what I like. I do have to apologize though. I'm a slight Sony fan, so if I leave out the X-Box stuff, I am sorry. Ive just always had a Playstation. Lets kick this thing off with number five...
5. Metal Gear Solid (PS1)--- Metal Gear was my first Playstation game and as such, I played the crap out of it. Everything about this game was epic for its time. The story telling, albeit convoluted, was excellent and the production value was, and still is, unmatched. And the boss battles...WOW... The first time Psycho Mantis read my memory card and made my controller "move", I almost crapped my pants.

4. Madden series (any console ever)--- I'm going to preface this by saying, if you don't like sports games, then this blog might not totally be for you. I love sports, I played sports and I watch sports. So therefore I play games about sports. And for those that say sports games aren't "hardcore" gaming... Well you obviously haven't played one. Every thing about Madden from '98 to about '06 was pretty awesome. Being able to just pick up and play, or dive into 20 to 35 different player statistics to put together the perfect franchise team is right up my alley. I spent many a sleepless weekend poring over a fantasy draft board in Madden '05, just so my team would be the perfect. Madden is awesome.
3. Uncharted 2 (PS3)--- Nathan Drake is a badass. And he left footprints in the snow that stayed there. Pretty much the best production values around are rolling out of Naughty Dog at a steady clip. Story was rad and I played this until my fingers bled.
2. Super Mario Bros. 3--- Everybody has played it. And I'll speak for the majority of gamers and say that almost everybody loves it. This is the first video game I ever remember playing and as I write this, it's the last game I have played. It's absolutely timeless. I remember waking up early on Saturday mornings, cold tile under my bare feet, running and grabbing a pop tart and playing through this game. AGAIN. I challenge any of you reading this to give me a valid reason this game isn't good.
AND DRUM ROLL PLEASE..........
1. Bioshock (Xbox 360)--- And after all that Sony talk, I put a Xbox title as my favorite game. And yes, in all fairness there is a port, but I played it before that so I'm sticking. I don't really buy games as art, but this one came pretty close. It was like a Academy Award winning film and a pick-your-own-ending novel rolled up into one scary, demented basket. From the minute I stuck it in the system to the last achievement, I was hooked. My first defeat of a Big Daddy left my morals in a lurch that I made me crazy. And that was the addictive part. And the twist....OH MY GOD... "Would you kindly" change my Huggies, please?
Well there you have it. Stay tuned for my favorites in the food department!
